Digital Marketing Students Kick off The Inaugural Digital Marketing Consultancy Program at Cal Poly Pomona
The Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store, established in 2001, serves as a retail outlet for fresh produce grown on campus, offering a wide array of locally sourced goods. Recently, a group of students from the College of Business Administration embarked on a mission to elevate the store’s profile through the Digital Marketing Consultancy Program. Led by Professor Jae Min Jung and Assistant Professor In-Hye Kang, the students developed comprehensive digital marketing strategies, including social media audits, SEO enhancements, and website design improvements. Their efforts culminated in a compelling pitch to Farm Store representatives, earning them the opportunity to implement their recommendations and solidify their role as a trusted marketing agency. This project exemplifies Cal Poly Pomona’s “Learn by Doing” philosophy, providing students with hands-on experience and real-world skills. With the success of this initiative, the future looks bright for both the Farm Store and the Digital Marketing Consultancy Program.
“This experience encouraged me to delve into the intricacies of SEO, taught me how to conduct online presence audits, allowed me to improve my website design skills, and helped me gain insights into strategic planning, creative direction, and content creation—all of which digital marketers need to be successful.”
